The United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) published a new standard of healthcare in the United States Pharmacopeia-National Formulary (USP-NF). Hazardous Drugs ? Handling in Healthcare Settings, was developed to protect personnel and patients, as well as reduce the risk of residual exposure in healthcare settings. The standard applies to all healthcare personnel and facilities where hazardous drugs are handled, stored and distributed. The goal was to prevent and limit exposure.
