Quantitative Peroxide, Chemical Analysis of Ozonated Glycerin for Cosmetic Raw Material Testing
Project Description
We’re seeking a contract laboratory for recurring quantitative testing of anhydrous ozonated glycerin (ozonated glycerol), a specialized cosmetic/wellness raw material. Testing will involve 5–10 batches submitted periodically over 6–12 months, with interest in a volume-based testing agreement.
Sample specifications:
Material: Pure anhydrous ozonated glycerin
Matrix: 100% glycerin-based, water-soluble polyol
Lipid content: 0% (no oils, fats, or lipids)
Available sample quantity: 50–100 mL per batch
Required testing:
Total Peroxide/Oxidant Value: Quantitative determination of reactive peroxide or oxidant content, reported in mEq/kg or mg/L. Testing must accommodate the water-soluble glycerin matrix using modified iodometric titration or another validated quantitative method. Standard lipid-based peroxide value methods are not suitable without appropriate adaptation.
Chemical Profiling (Optional/Preferred): LC-MS or another suitable analytical technique to assess chemical changes following ozonation, including the presence and relative abundance of glyceric acid and glycolic acid byproducts.
Water Activity (a_w): Measurement to assess water activity in the finished raw material.
Testing volume and schedule:
Approximately 5–10 batches over 6–12 months
Samples submitted periodically or grouped in sets of 2–3
Potential for an initial trial sample to establish method compatibility
Quotation requirements:
Per-batch pricing with volume discounts for 5–10 samples
Separate method development, adaptation, or validation fees, including options to distribute costs across the testing agreement
Pricing for streamlined electronic data reports (EDD/CSV or single-page summaries) versus formal PDF reports
Standard and expedited turnaround times
Laboratories with experience in modified iodometric titration, LC-MS analysis, or testing of ozonated polyols are encouraged to confirm their capabilities and sample acceptance requirements.
