Non-Targeted Headspace GC-MS Impurities Screening in Personal Care Products

We are a supply chain consultancy seeking an ISO 17025, GMP/GLP  laboratory partner for a recurring monthly testing program. We require rapid Non-Targeted Screening of consumer products (shampoos, lotions, oils) to identify potential volatile impurities and solvents.

Technical Requirements:

Method: Headspace GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry).

Objective: Identify the Top 20-30 Volatile/Semi-Volatile compounds (VOCs) present in the headspace.

Identification: Must provide NIST Library Matching (Best Match) for all significant peaks.

Reporting: We do not require certified quantification (standards) for every peak. We require a Semi-Quantitative report (Peak Area / % Relative Abundance) and Tentative Identification (TICs).

Matrices: Viscous liquids (surfactants), vegetable oils, and occasional organic solids.

Volume: Initial Pilot: 10 Samples; Ongoing: Expect 10–20 samples per month pending successful pilot.

Turnaround Time: Standard (10 Business Days).

Certification Requirements: ISO 17025 preferred but not mandatory for this screening tier (GLP/GMP compliant labs acceptable).
