Household Cleaner Compatibility Testing on Metals and Plastics

Project Description

We wish to evaluate and compare several aqueous household cleaning products on frequently cleaned materials, including common plastics, metals, and alloys. Analysis to include mass loss analysis, but primarily optical methods (microscopy). Methods may be derived from (or similar to) ISO 5156, 9812, 21530, etc., or may be entirely ‘new’. The goal is to determine visual and physical changes caused by long-term exposure to these cleaning agents.
