Caliche Material Testing and Analysis

Seeking an AASHTO and/or TxDOT-certified laboratory for material testing of raw caliche intended for use in road construction, general construction, and oilfield pad/site development. I’d appreciate a formal quote, turnaround time, and any sampling guidance your lab requires.

Samples

Number of samples: 4–6 representative bulk and/or core samples (to cover variability across site)

Type: Raw caliche (bulk material and compacted samples where possible)

Testing Requirements

• Gradation / Sieve Analysis (ASTM C136, TxDOT 247)
• Moisture Content (ASTM D2216)
• Atterberg Limits (ASTM D4318)
• Proctor Compaction – Standard & Modified (ASTM D698 / D1557)
• Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) (ASTM D2166)
• R-Value / CBR for road and pad construction (ASTM D2844 / D1883)
• Sulphate and Chloride Content (for oilfield pad stability and compatibility)
• Los Angeles Abrasion (ASTM C131) – durability for road base material

If additional tests are recommended for oilfield pads or heavy-haul roads, kindly include them.

Industry Standards

Tests to follow ASTM, AASHTO, and TxDOT methods where applicable

Must be suitable for compliance with TxDOT road base specifications, construction quality control, and oilfield operator pad/facility requirements
