Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Adhesive Bond Strength
Project Description
Large corporation needs Materials Laboratory for Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) testing of adhesive bond strength on Transportation Safety Recessed Pavement Marker
Adhesive Bond Strength - Option 1 Epoxy. 250 psi minimum average tensile bond strength of five specimens according to the following test:
Bond a 1.5-inch diameter steel test plug with sandblasted surface to the center of the marker bottom using an epoxy meeting AASHTO M237.
After 48 hours curing time at 74° F ± 4° F, tensile load the test plugs at a load rate of 4850 pounds/minute until failure.
Adhesive Bond Strength - Option 2 Flexible Bituminous Adhesive. 170 psi minimum individual tensile bond strength of five specimens according to the following test:
2 Section 00855.00
ODOT TM 432-05 amended as follows. Bond a 1.5-inch diameter steel test plug with sandblasted surface to the center of the marker bottom using a Flexible Bituminous Adhesive from the ODOT Qualified Products List.
