Plant-Based Hydrogels Biophysical Characterization Testing
Project Description
MULTIPLE TESTING
We're developing and characterizing plant-based, resorbable hydrogels incorporating guava (Psidium guajava) leaf extract for biomedical applications, specifically for accelerating hemostasis and promoting soft tissue regeneration. We seek to evaluate both physical and bioactive properties of the formulated hydrogels.
Testing Services Required:
1. Swelling Ratio – Gravimetric assessment of hydrogel’s water absorption capacity over time.
2. FTIR Analysis – Characterization of chemical functional groups and cross-linking confirmation.
3. Rheological Properties – Viscosity and viscoelastic behavior under shear stress to assess mechanical performance.
4. Degradation Rate – in vitro biodegradability profiling in physiological buffer (e.g., PBS) over time.
5. MTT Assay – Cytotoxicity assessment on mammalian cells to confirm biocompatibility.
6. WVTR (Water Vapor Transmission Rate) – Moisture permeability to evaluate wound healing suitability.
7. Tensile Strength – Mechanical testing of hydrogel films to determine stretchability and resistance.
8. Blood Coagulation Index – in vitro testing to assess hemostatic activity and clot formation efficiency.
We would like to inquire which of these services your lab can provide, along with sample requirements, turnaround time, and cost. Standard protocols (ASTM/ISO) preferred where applicable.
