Laboratory Test Request

Recycled Polyester (RPET) Chips & Yarns Testing

Project Description

URGENT
MULTIPLE TESTING
ISO 17025 contract GPC/HPLC testing facility needed for the following tests on RPET/PET/PBT yarns and chips. Also, please share your lab certifications such as ISO ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO 9001 or any other:
1. Content of low molecular weight substance in PET filament and chips through UPLC
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to analyze the content of low molecular weight materials in PET polymer and filament.
At this time, as a pretreatment, a sample of about 0.1 g was dissolved in 5 ml of HFIP(Hcxafiuoro-2-propanol)/CH2C12=1/3 (v/v) and re-precipitated with 10 ml of acetonitrile and then injected into UPLC. The conditions for detailed HPLC analysis are as follows.
Equipment used; Waters UPLC
Column X-bridge C18 5 micro m (4.6*250 mm)
Eluent: A/B=90/10 to A/B=0/100 to A/B=90/10.
A: 0.3% H3PO4, B. CH3CN
Flow rate: 1.0 ml/min (5.0 micro L lnj. Runtime 40 min)
Detection: UV Detector at 242 nm

2. Weight-Average Molecular Weight of the Yarn Filament (GPC)
Yarn sample is dissolved in hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP), and a 0.1% by weight solution of ortho-chlorophenol (OCP) is subjected to Gel Permeation Chromatography to measure the number average molecular weight and the weight average molecular weight.
Then the poly-dispersity index is expressed as a ratio of the weight average molecular weight to the number average molecular weight.

3. Poly-Dispersity Index of the Yarn Filament (GPC)

4. Single Filament Elongation at 1g/d
Ten monofilaments are extracted from a yarn (multifilament) which is stored for 24 hours at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 65%. By using a monofilament tensile tester Vibrojet 2000 manufactured by Lenzing Co. or Favimat manufactured by Tex-Techno, pre-load (approximately, mono-denier times 60mg) a sample length of 20 mm and then elongate the sample with a tensile speed of 20 mm/min.
The stress-strain curve of each monofilament sample is measured and from this the elongation at 1g/d, 3g/d, the tensile strength and the elongation at break are extracted. Ten filaments must be measured. Result of all 10 individual readings should be given in the final report.

5. Single Filament Elongation at 3g/d

6. Single Filament Elongation at Break

7. Single Filament Tensile Strength

8. Yarn Crimp Ratio
A skein of yarn is made by winding the yarn once around a reel of 1m in circumference. Next, the yarn is dipped in boiling water at 100 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes, then the yarn is conditioned for 20 minutes at room temperature at 65% RH, after conditioning the sample is hung with a weight of (Denier*0.1 g) for 60 seconds and length L0 is measured.
After this the samples is hung with weight equal to (Denier*0.01 g) for 60 seconds and length L1 is measured, To calculate crimp ratio (percent) following formula is used ={(L0-L1)/L0}x100

9. Single Filament Modification Ratio
Using high-resolution microscopy measure the diameter Y2 of the circle circumscribed around the filament section and the diameter Y1 of the circle inscribed in the filament section and take the ratio: MR=Y2/Y1.

Do let me know the price and sample size for the test that is possible to be conducted at your lab.
