Laboratory Test Request

Vehicle Alternator Unknown Substance Identification Testing

Project Description

Specialty Vehicles Company needs USA Laboratory for identification of a chemical composition analysis on an unknown substance that was found alternators which failed inside their vehicle. They want to know what this substance is and what it may have come from. What we know about the substance so far is:
1) It didn't come from the alternator itself, but from somewhere else, as understood by the customer.
2) It is black in color and looks like dirt.
3) It holds a flame for a few seconds if you set fire to it.
4) It smells like rubber.

I appreciate any help you can provide to point me in the direction of the right lab to talk to. Thank you very much.
