The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standards Coordination Office has released the Guide to United States Electrical and Electronic Equipment Compliance Requirements. This guide addresses electrical and electronic consumer products, including those that will come into contact with food. It also includes electronic medical devices and workplace products. The Guide provides an overview of the primary regulations pertaining to electrical and electronic products, and covers both applicable federal and state regulations. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), are all US federal agencies that regulate electrical and electronic products.
