FDA Import Alert Testing for Jelly Straws – Choking Risk and Food Colors

We are seeking an accredited laboratory to test two detained jelly straw food products for compliance with FDA Import Alerts 33-15 and 45-02. The detained products are:

• Fruit Jelly Straws – 1000 g / 6 jars per carton
• Jelly Straws – 386 g / 18 bags per carton

Testing is needed to address the choking risk/physical characteristics of the jelly products under Import Alert 33-15 and to analyze for Gardenia, Safflower, and other applicable illegal or undeclared color additives under Import Alert 45-02.

We are seeking an appropriate analytical testing package and laboratory reports suitable for supporting an FDA detention compliance submission.
